Rydr – Terms of Use
Version 1.1 · Updated: 6 October 2026
1. Operator and scope
Rydr is operated by CAPYBARA Cycling GmbH, Altenbachstrasse 17E, 8832 Wollerau, Schweiz (Switzerland) (“Rydr”, “we”). Contact: admin@rydr.site. These terms apply to the Rydr app and our website www.rydr.site where they have been validly incorporated into the relevant agreement.
The Ride, Safety and Family Rules also apply. Paid features are subject to the Subscription Terms and the offer shown at purchase. Organisational customers may also be subject to the Corporate and Club Terms and individually agreed contracts. Mandatory law and expressly negotiated agreements take precedence.
Our Privacy Notice explains how we process personal data. Accepting these terms does not constitute blanket consent to advertising or optional location sharing.
When you create a new Rydr account, you accept the version of these Terms of Use shown and linked before registration is completed. Acceptance takes place when you select “Create account” and the account is successfully created; with Apple or Google, when you start the clearly identified registration process and successfully complete it. No additional checkbox or separate acceptance button is required, provided you are clearly informed of acceptance and can access the terms before taking that step. Merely using or signing in to an existing account does not retroactively constitute acceptance. Paid subscriptions are concluded separately; optional consents and device permissions remain separate.
2. Services and platform role
Rydr helps organise non-commercial carpools through groups, events, ride requests, attendance responses, vehicle assignments, suggested routes, messages and notifications. Available features depend on the offer and the relevant permissions.
Rydr does not itself transport passengers, supply drivers or supervise or care for children. Arrangements for a particular journey are made between the drivers, passengers, their authorised representatives or organisers. Rydr remains responsible for its own obligations in providing the platform.
Requests, assignments, status updates and notifications reflect information reported by users or calculated for planning. They do not prove that a vehicle will arrive or that a person has boarded, arrived or is safe.
3. Commitments and journeys
Rydr does not guarantee that a ride request will be accepted, that a seat or pickup will be available, or that an outward or return journey will run or arrive on time. A subscription provides additional software features, not these guarantees.
Drivers may become unavailable, information may be outdated and messages may be delayed. Confirm important pickups and last-minute changes directly with those involved. Arrange a suitable alternative for essential journeys. Responsible adults must agree on the actual handover of children.
A commitment may create obligations between the people involved. These notices do not remove those obligations or statutory claims.
4. Accounts, minors and representation
Provide accurate information, complete the confirmation required during sign-up and protect your login credentials. Signing in with Apple or Google does not verify a driving licence or parental, representative or caring authority.
Minors need their legal representative’s consent to use the service or enter contracts wherever applicable law requires it. Use must be appropriate to their age and capacity to understand. Only an authorised person may manage a child profile or link it to a separate account. Selecting a parent or organisational role in the app does not itself establish legal authority. The child’s rights remain protected.
Anyone acting for a child, company or club must be authorised to do so. A driving commitment made in a parent role means that the responsible adult will drive. A child profile must not be used as a driver.
When switching between your personal and business accounts, check which account is active. Multiple accounts must not be used to bypass restrictions, permissions or product limits.
5. Carpool requirements
Drivers must hold the required valid driving licence, be fit to drive and use a lawful, roadworthy vehicle with sufficient insurance for its intended use. Actual seating capacity, seat belts, child restraints and passengers’ particular needs must be taken into account.
Passengers must give accurate attendance and pickup information, keep to arrangements and follow lawful safety instructions. Everyone must report changes and cancellations as early as possible. No one may be pressured into an unsafe journey.
Rydr’s service does not cover commercial driving services, journeys for profit, seat sales, or taxi or professional shuttle marketplaces. Rydr does not collect fares. Any contribution to actual shared costs agreed outside Rydr must not disguise commercial passenger transport; those involved must check its legality and their insurance cover.
6. Routes, navigation and changes
Routes, pickup sequences and times are suggestions based on available data. Rydr promises neither a mathematical optimum nor particular time, cost or emissions savings. Traffic, weather, closures, vehicle dimensions and actual pickup conditions may differ.
Road signs, traffic rules, vehicle restrictions and the driver’s safe judgement take precedence. A bus route must be checked for suitability for the particular vehicle. The app may be used while driving only lawfully and without distraction.
Responses, driver changes, cancellations and organisers’ changes may trigger reassignment. Check the latest plan before departure. Coordinate changes during a journey safely with those affected; recalculation is not an instruction to act abruptly or dangerously.
7. Groups, organisations and external drivers
Group managers may manage events, request drivers and change assignments within their permissions. A request does not oblige anyone to drive. Organisers must communicate important changes appropriately.
An organisational role or matching email domain alone does not authorise access to all organisational data. Users may access only information they are entitled to access.
Anyone adding an external driver without a Rydr account must confirm that person’s agreement, identity, availability for contact and required qualifications outside the app, and communicate changes directly. Listing someone is neither a check by Rydr nor a transport guarantee.
8. Content and permitted use
You may use Rydr within the agreed offer and these terms. Rights in software, text, logos and design remain with their respective owners. Using the app does not transfer rights to exploit other people’s content independently. Uses permitted by law remain unaffected.
You retain rights in your own content. You permit Rydr to store it, make technically necessary changes and display it to people authorised for the selected feature, to the extent needed to provide the requested service. Advertising using your name, image or organisation’s logo requires separate authorisation.
Prohibited conduct includes harassment, threats, discrimination, sexual approaches to minors, unlawful content, deception about identity or driving qualifications, unauthorised disclosure of other people’s addresses, images or locations, spam, unauthorised extraction of member data and bypassing security measures.
9. Reports and restrictions
Report abusive content and safety concerns to admin@rydr.site. In response to breaches, we may restrict content, temporarily suspend accounts or terminate accounts for serious or repeated breaches. Measures depend on the circumstances and must be proportionate.
We will explain the reason unless doing so would compromise safety, investigations or others’ rights. Use the same contact to respond or complain. A suspension does not automatically extinguish paid or statutory entitlements; these depend on the contract, the reason for the measure and mandatory law.
Rydr is not an emergency service and does not continuously monitor journeys or chats. In immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services directly.
10. Availability and development
We provide the agreed platform services with reasonable care. Maintenance, outages and dependencies on devices, internet access and service providers may affect use. A particular availability level or response time is owed only if expressly agreed. Our own contractual obligations remain despite dependencies on third parties.
Security updates and reasonable improvements may be made. Material reductions in core features already paid for will be communicated in good time. Remedies, cancellation rights and refunds required by law or contract remain available.
11. Ending use and deleting an account
You may stop using Rydr and request account deletion through the app’s deletion process or admin@rydr.site. Where possible, first resolve open journeys, family links and group responsibilities. An organisational handover is not a condition for exercising statutory data rights.
Deleting the app or your Rydr account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Also cancel renewal in Apple’s subscription settings.
Processing and retention of data after termination are governed by the Privacy Notice and applicable law. An organisation may remain responsible for records it lawfully needs.
12. Liability
Responsibility is determined by applicable law. Rydr is not liable for the conduct of drivers, passengers, organisers or others solely because they use Rydr. This does not affect responsibility for Rydr’s own breaches or breaches legally attributable to it.
In particular, liability for intent or gross negligence, legally protected claims involving death, personal injury or harm to health, and other mandatory claims are not excluded. This also applies to free use. Notices about the absence of journey guarantees do not reduce expressly agreed platform services or create a blanket waiver in favour of drivers or vehicle owners.
13. Changes to these terms
We will communicate material changes with the new version and its proposed effective date. New payment obligations and material changes to the core agreement require a valid agreement; silence alone is insufficient. Changes do not apply retrospectively to completed matters. Protections for ongoing subscriptions remain in place.
14. Law and contact
Swiss law applies, subject to applicable mandatory protections. Statutory rules on jurisdiction remain unaffected. For contract questions, contact admin@rydr.site.
If a provision is invalid, the remaining provisions continue to apply insofar as the contract can remain in force. Applicable law replaces invalid provisions.
