Rydr – Ride, Safety and Family Rules

Version 1.0 · 29 September 2026 · Supplement to the Terms of Use

1. Before every journey

Check the driver, vehicle, available seats, meeting point, time and direction of travel. Agreement to an outward journey does not automatically include the return journey. Discuss luggage, particular needs and required child seats directly. An allocated seat does not mean that a suitable child seat or accessible vehicle is available.

Drivers must check their driving licence and insurance for the particular vehicle and intended use. Rydr does not provide motor insurance or separate accident, luggage or cancellation insurance. Statutory liability claims remain unaffected.

A confirmed email address, group role, profile picture or driving commitment is not an identity, driving licence, criminal record or safety check by Rydr. Resolve uncertainties before boarding.

2. Safety in the vehicle

Do not drive while impaired by alcohol, drugs, medication or fatigue. Use your device only safely and lawfully. Seat belts and legally required child restraints must be used, and actual seating capacity must not be exceeded.

Threats, harassment, discrimination, sexual approaches and unauthorised recordings of others are prohibited. Nobody must board or continue a journey when there are reasonable safety concerns. Stop only in a safe place. Do not leave children or people needing assistance without appropriate care.

3. Commitments, cancellations and pickups

Take agreed journeys seriously and report foreseeable problems promptly. Update your status in Rydr as soon as it is safe. For urgent changes, contact affected people directly; sending a push notification does not prove it has been read.

If someone does not arrive, try to contact them or the organiser and arrange an alternative if needed. Rydr does not provide replacement transport or an on-call pickup service. The liability provisions in the Terms of Use and statutory claims remain unaffected.

4. Accidents and urgent incidents

Make the situation safe, provide necessary assistance and contact emergency services when needed. In Switzerland, call 117 for the police, 118 for the fire service and 144 for an ambulance. Rydr support and notifications do not replace an emergency call.

Afterwards, report relevant incidents to admin@rydr.site. Share only necessary information and do not post accident images or personal accusations in public groups. Rydr does not take the place of police, rescue services or insurers.

5. Child profiles and authority

Only a person with parental responsibility or other lawful authority may create and manage a child profile. Linking a child’s separate account must also be authorised. Parent and organisational roles in Rydr do not replace legal authority. Shared parental responsibility and existing orders must be respected.

Family features do not replace supervision or authorisation to collect a child. Responsible adults must establish who will hand over the child, transport them and receive them at the destination. A child must not be handed to an unknown person solely because of an automatic assignment.

A driving commitment in the parent role refers to the adult driver. It does not automatically authorise them to transport other children.

6. Driver changes and children’s return journeys

Before departure, responsible adults must agree on the driver or a clearly defined group of permitted drivers. Changes outside that group must be agreed again with the authorised people. This may need to take place outside the app; an assignment shown in Rydr does not replace it. Without established authority, the handover must not take place.

Agree separately on the return journey and what to do if someone becomes unavailable. Organisers and responsible adults must, within their agreed responsibilities, ensure that a child is not left without appropriate care after a cancellation or event. The extent of supervision depends on actual agreements and legal duties.

The driver is responsible for safe transport and correct use of required restraints. Child seat requirements depend on the applicable rules, the particular child and the vehicle. Rydr’s seat count does not determine those requirements.

7. Information about children

Share children’s home, school, health and routine information only where necessary and lawful for the particular purpose. Respect children’s rights when using photos and other content. Medical details do not belong in generally visible text fields; discuss necessary information directly with the responsible people.

Use contact, location and journey information only within your authority. A parent or organisational role does not authorise unrelated contact or unrestricted monitoring. Respect the child’s age, capacity to understand and personality rights. The Privacy Notice explains Rydr’s data processing.

8. Buses and external drivers

For buses, the organiser and driver must check the vehicle category, driving qualifications, safety equipment, passenger limit, insurance and any permit requirements. Describing a journey as private or entering a seat count does not replace these checks. Commercial passenger transport is not part of Rydr’s service.

The organiser establishes whether there is a shared meeting point or individual pickups. External drivers without Rydr accounts must agree outside the app and be contactable. The organiser must lawfully send them the current plan and any changes. If a bus or driving commitment is withdrawn, seating and alternatives must be reassessed.
